Time-saving with Smart Styling in Visual Editor

Boost
Published
October 10, 2024

We’re excited to announce the release of the Smart Styling in Boost's Visual Editor, designed to save you time and effort when customizing your storefront. With this feature, you can instantly copy design settings, such as text colors, button styles, typography, and product list layouts, from your Shopify theme to your store template.

How Smart Styling Works

Phase 1: Boost users can currently select a source page from any existing Shopify theme in their store and apply its style settings directly into the Visual Editor. This eliminates the need for manual adjustments, letting you focus on other important tasks.

Phase 2 (Coming soon): We’re developing an advanced version of Smart Styling, powered by AI, which will allow users to fetch style settings from any website or scan settings from images. This will further streamline the design process, giving you even more flexibility.

How to Access Smart Styling

To begin using the Smart Styling feature, navigate to the App admin and go to Integration > Template Library.

From there, locate the template you want to customize and click on Customize to open the Visual Editor. In the left-side menu of the Visual Editor, select the Smart Styling icon.

Now, let's move on to best practices to ensure you're getting the most out of the Smart Styling feature.

Best Practices for Smart Styling

  1. Understand the Limitations: While this feature copies key elements like text colors, button styles, and layout settings, some adjustments might be needed, especially for more complex themes.
  2. Check Compatibility: Smart Styling works best with popular Shopify themes like Debut, Prestige, and Warehouse. For other themes, you might need to tweak some elements manually.
  3. Fine-tune the Details: After applying styles, always review your design for consistency and visual harmony, particularly on non-compatible elements like fonts and colors.
  4. Test Across Devices: Ensure your design looks great on mobile and tablet devices by regularly reviewing the fetched styles and making necessary adjustments.

By following these best practices, you’ll ensure your storefront maintains a cohesive, professional look with minimal effort. Get started with Smart Styling today and simplify your design process!

Boost's new Smart Styling feature lets merchants easily copy style settings from Shopify themes to the Visual Editor, cutting down time on manual customization. Currently, you can fetch styles from their Shopify themes, with future updates expanding functionality.
