Managing a global store was complex. Merchants using Shopify Markets or Global-E usually face two main issues: enabling the Storefront API requires a support ticket, and stock availability does not factor in the customer's actual location.
The result is that shoppers see unavailable products or inconsistent stock data across markets, leading to a poor customer experience.
This update puts those controls directly in your hands.

Inside the Global selling menu, you'll now find a Market catalogs section with an Activate button. Clicking it enables the Storefront API and, if you use Global-E, also activates the Global-E integration in one step.
Here's how the flow works: when you click Activate, Boost checks whether the necessary Shopify permissions are already in place.
If they are, the status switches to Activated right away. If not, you're redirected to Shopify's permissions screen. After you grant approval, a confirmation banner appears, and the integration is live.
A few things worth knowing: this is a one-way action, meaning once activated, it cannot be deactivated. This keeps your market data and pricing accurate across Shopify Markets and Global-E without risk of accidental disruption. The feature is available to all paid plan users. Free plan users do not have access to this setting.
For stores that use Global-e specifically, this is a significant unlock. Activating the Storefront API ensures that Global-E can accurately retrieve per-market pricing and product availability, so your international shoppers automatically see the right prices and products for their region.

The second part of this update is a new toggle in the Global selling menu: Stock status by shipping locations.
Turning on this toggle makes Boost display product availability based on fulfillment locations and shipping zones. Products unavailable for a shopper's location are hidden.
Turning it off keeps the previous default: out-of-stock products still appear in stock. This is beneficial for stores with multiple or offline-only warehouses. Enabling it may require a Shopify permissions check and approval before activation.
