
When shoppers search for products, they're close to buying. However, questions may arise, and if help isn't easily accessible, sales momentum is lost.
Currently, the Gorgias live chat widget is often obscured by the Instant Search Widget, making it hard for shoppers to find when they need it most. They may leave before locating the chat button.
Boost x Gorgias integration solves this by placing a support button directly inside the Instant Search Widget. One click opens the Gorgias chat, allowing shoppers to get help without interrupting their search.

Getting started is straightforward. Head to Boost Admin > 3rd Party Integration and filter by the Support & CRM category to find Gorgias. Click Configure, then toggle on "Integrate Boost with Gorgias." You'll be taken through a quick OAuth authorization flow to securely connect your Gorgias account. Once connected, all other sub-features unlock.
From there, enable "Display Gorgias' support chat in Boost's ISW" to activate the button on your storefront. The support button appears automatically in the Instant Search Widget on desktop, on all layouts except the 1-column layout.
You also have full control over how the button looks and feels. Inside the Style settings panel, you can customize:

Any changes take effect on the storefront as soon as you hit Save. If you want to remove the button without disconnecting Gorgias, simply toggle off the display setting. Your button styling is always retained, whether you disable the display or disconnect and reconnect the integration later.
A note on scope: this feature is available to Boost Turbo merchants only and is designed for desktop experiences. On mobile, your existing Gorgias chat widget is already accessible via its floating button, and the ISW's mobile layout does not have sufficient space to add a second entry point without affecting usability.

Short, clear copy like "Need help?" or "Talk to us" performs better than generic labels. Keep it under 20 characters and make it feel like a natural invitation.
If your search widget has a clean, minimal look, an outline button tends to blend in well without competing for attention. If you want the support option to stand out more, a solid button with a contrasting background color is more effective. Either way, consistency with your brand palette matters.
The support button relies on Gorgias Live Chat being live and active on your store. If the Gorgias widget has not been set up or is disabled, the button in the ISW will not work as expected. Do a quick test after enabling it to confirm the chat opens properly.
A shopper who hits a question mid-search and gets a fast answer is far more likely to complete a purchase than one who walks away unsure. Having a chat entry point inside search is not just a support feature; it is a conversion tool.
